Growing the Village is Sweet 2024

by Joshua Conley

As the summer comes to an end, so does our season of raising awareness through our Lemonade Stands.

It was an honor to see members of our community, mostly small children with their paretns, raising awareness for the needs of children and families experiencing foster care, adoption, and kinship care.

From our business partners - Arlington Farmer's Market, Clarke's Quick Print, Frsteam, Forest Hill Grill, The Half Shell; church partners - Island Community Church, Hope Church, Faith Baptist Bartlett 5K; and family stand hosts, we could not have done this without you, and we are so grateful to have you has part of our Village.

One of the things I was blown away by this year was the number of families who have been formed through foster care, adoption, and kinship care, stepping up to host a stand on behalf of the community they represent.

One family who hosted a stand mentioned that without their familiy being engaged with the foster care, adoption, and kinship care community, they wouldn't have understood the impact that a lemonade stand could bring. But since they are involved, in the good and the bad, the blessings and the burdens, they see how raising awareness and raising funding for the work of Foster Village Memphis is vitally important.

We need more families, businesses, and church partners to get involved.

While our summer awareness campaign is coming to an end, our work continues. We would love to connect with you on how we can partner together for the children and families of the Midsouth!
